Laura Shaffer, longtime Vegas casino warbler, is currently working on her debut album for RKO Records..... It's called Julie London Songbook, and the first three songs are being sneak released on Amazon.Com and other download sites.....it's hot stuff!
Arthur Bloberger, the former editor of the Las Vegas Jewish Reporter who was hounded out of his job by the infamous Las Vegas Jewish Federation CEO Elliot Karp, enjoyed a respite from his EEOC actions agaist Karp, the Las Vegas Jewish Federation, former chairman Danny Greenspun, and current chairman Las Vegas Attoreney Leonard Stone by judging the Elvis Rocks Mesquite Elvis impersonator competition at the CasaBlanca Resort Casino.....meanwhile Karp, who was fired from his job at the Cincinnati Jewish Federation for employee abuse, is at it again in Las Vegas according to insiders....bodies everywhere as he wreaks havoc in yet another city..... look for a shocking TV expose on Las Vegas Justice Bureau TV show coming soon.....
Speaking of Mesquite, Channel 8 sportscaster Chris Maathuis (what a gentleman!), bowling Hall of Famer Wendy Macpherson, and UNLV Bowling Coach Joey Shugart were all at the Virgin River Casino Bowling Lanes last week providing commentary on the PBA Doubles Championship up there. Local pro bowlers David Haynes and Kerry Painter won the title.....
By the way, while up in Mesquite, I got a $25 dollar Spa treatment at the CasaBlanca Resort Hotel.....really!!!!......got a chance to meet Randy Black, the owner......cool guy!!!......by the way, that's a trip worth taking.......if you haven't been, it's pretty swank and still not expensive at all!
Long lost 1950's rock and roll icon Sandy Nelson is alive and well and living in Boulder City....his seminal hit Let There Be Drums, changed a generation of music..... God Bless Sandy!!!
