Some Friday Blarney to Get Ready For St. Pat's Day

Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer will drive basketball fans to the Excalibur Hotel & Casino for the highly anticipated tournament during basketball madness starting Thursday, March 15 through Sunday, March 18. For only $20 a day, fans can reserve a seat and catch all of the action on the restaurant’s high-definition flat panel screens.

During the tailgate party, guests will begin their day with breakfast items following a $5 happy hour with food specials including Pulled Pork Sandwiches, original or spicy Smoked Chicken Wings, Green Chile Queso and Chips and Original or Cheddar-JalapeƱo sausage sandwiches.

Everyone knows that peach cobbler is one of America’s favorite Southern-style indulgences. In celebration of National Peach Cobbler Day on Friday, April 13, PBR Rock Bar & Grill at Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will offer its signature Drunken Peach Cobbler for only $5.

Originally priced at $6.95, PBR Rock Bar’s family style Drunken Peach Cobbler is baked in a cast iron skillet and served with rum-soaked peaches.

Sway Pool Lounge at Silverton Casino Hotel celebrates its re-opening on Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m. The event kicks off the Bikinis, Bands and Burgers concert series with food specials for purchase by Johnny Rockets, drink specials and a performance by Grammy Award winning reggae band Steel Pulse at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 the day of.

Famed reggae band Steel Pulse takes the stage at the much anticipated re-opening party at Sway Pool Lounge. This reggae band pushed its way onto the music scene in 1978 with the debut album Handsworth Revolution. After a lot of time and hard work, the band’s album Babylon The Bandit won a Grammy for “Best Reggae Album.”

Dr. Robert E. Lang, professor of sociology and director of the Brookings Mountain West at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will be the guest speaker at the Las Vegas Hospitality Association’s luncheon on Thursday, March 22. He will be delivering the results of a new study by the Brookings Institute, giving invaluable insight into the economic future of the tourism, gaming and entertainment industry in Southern Nevada. His forecast will be a brighter one than in recent years.
